Amidst the Tokyo Game Show, Dragon Quest Anniversary Collection had the week almost entirely to itself.
Dragon Quest Anniversary Collection isn’t too far off from release; Square Enix have it pegged for September 15th. Today, they released the first trailer for the collection, which will contain Dragon Quests I, II and III for the NES and Super Nintendo.

There’s to be more to the Dragon Quest Anniversary Collection than meets the eye. Most significantly, included with a special edition package of the collection will be a trailer for the upcoming Dragon Quest X for the Wii.
Enix was way ahead of the curve when it came to remakes. Right after finishing Dragon Quest V, Chunsoft started working on a remake of Dragon Quest I & II.
Sure, it’s a compilation of Super Famicom and Famicom games that follow Roto’s trilogy, but Square Enix added one more feature – quicksaves.
A bonus item will be included with Dragon Quest I・II・III, but Square Enix is keeping this item a secret for now.
Square Enix won’t release Dragon Quest on Virtual Console. Instead the first three games in the Dragon Quest series are being bundled together Super Mario All-Stars style into Dragon Quest I・II・III.
