Enslaved, Ninja Theory’s post-apocalyptic, yet arborous action game, will be ready on October 5. Namco Bandai announced the game’s release date today and shared screenshots of Monkey smashing robots.

In one area, the ground was littered with mines. I had to get Trip and Monkey past the minefield, but the game only let’s you control Monkey.

Enslaved is loosely inspired by the “Journey to the West” fable. Alex Garland, the scriptwriter of “28 Days Later”, took the story and added a machines to it.

Last year, Namco Bandai and Ninja Theory partnered to make a game. That game is Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, a retelling on Journey to the West set 150 years in the future.

Namco Bandai and Heavenly Sword developer Ninja Theory are teaming up to make Enslaved. The upcoming PlayStation 3 / Xbox 360 game is set 150 years in the future where robots rule over humans in post-apocalyptic America.
