Etrain Odyssey IV is a lot more forgiving since it starts players off with Ariadne’s Thread, an item that lets you warp back to town when you’re in a dungeon. This item won’t be consumed, so you can basically teleport to a safe zone at anytime.

A new trailer for Atlus’ latest dungeon-crawling RPG.

These adventurers have skills like Flame Drive, which deals slashing and fire elemental damage to an enemy. Accel Drive slashes a monster and ignores defense attributes.

Atlus announced they will release a downloadable demo for Etrian Odyssey IV in Japan. The demo saves your data and that file can be transferred into the full game.

You can switch characters from the front and back rows during fights without using any turns. Basically, this lets players swap characters out to the back row to protect them and bring melee fighters to the front row to deal more melee damage.

Etrian Odyssey IV has a subclass system, so you can give gruff fighters a little bit of magic know how with a Rune Master subclass or more effective killers with the Night Seeker class.

Players can exchange guild cards through Streetpass or through QR codes, which you can upload to the Internet.

Look at all the lively monsters in Etrian Odyssey IV! Atlus converted the artwork into 3D models that move around in battle and made F.O.E.s you can see when you walk around labyrinths.

Dancers can restore HP with Regen Waltz whle Night Seekers can evade enemy attacks using a skill called Hide Cloak.

Etrian Odyssey IV may not have augmented reality F.O.E.s dancing on your dining room table, but Atlus is utilizing the 3DS’ built-in cameras. The dungeon crawler has QR code feature, which lets players unlock extra quests.
