Despite all of the screenshots of agent Jim Corbijn shooting a cybernetic gorilla, there aren’t many of them in Mindjack. The first time Jim sees one he makes note of the absurdity of shooting a mecha-monkey.

Mindjack has an interesting twist on entering multiplayer games.

Instead of showing more gameplay, the second Mindjack trailer made for Japan touches on the story. A war shifts from the battlefield to a city where anyone can be hacked into.

Mindjack’s eclectic blend of macho men, mini-mechs, flight attendants, and monkeys also has ninjas. The ESRB leaked this little detail in its product description.

Square Enix plans on releasing Mindjack, a third-person shooter developed by Lost Odyssey studio Feelplus, in North America first.

Somewhat reminiscent of Demon’s Souls, Mindjack has a passive multiplayer mode where you can hack into another person’s story mode.

Mindjack, the other body snatching third person shooter from Square Enix, will be the publisher’s first console game of 2011.

Following our suspicions, we contacted a Square Enix representative about a Mindjack delay.

Square Enix released a trailer for Mindjack two weeks ago that said the game was on track for October. Two retailers, however, disagree with that release window.
