Japan will get to play Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers two weeks earlier than expected.
December 26 to be exact, only a month after Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers launches in Japan.
The game was announced over three years ago at an E3 press conference right alongside Final Fantasy XIII. Both titles are scheduled to arrive in Japan this year.
Layle, the protagonist in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, has the uncanny ability to pick up and throw his enemies. This gameplay clip demonstrates other ways he can use this skill.
We confirmed with Square Enix that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers is scheduled to come out in North America later this year. A release date has not been finalized, but Crystal Bearers is being planned as their holiday title.
Though the world is now more or less at peace, there are underlying themes of racial oppression and genocide—not exactly lighthearted stuff.

Layle’s Crystal Bearer power allows him to grab and pick up anything or anyone. You activate his ability by pointing at the object you want to grab and hitting B. Once Layle’s gravity power connects you can toss barrels (or victims) by swinging the Wii remote.
