Okamoto is the only Game Republic employee left, he reveals.
Folklore writer and Child-Dream founder, Hidehisa Miyashita, is an independent developer in Japan who works on visual novels and RPGs for the iPhone and PC.
The giving spirit is contagious. Sony caught the bug and is releasing a free Folklore add-on pack this week. The package contains a fuzzy, Santa-style jacket for Ellen, a merry sweater for Keats and the Grab bag folks that attacks with the power of holiday cheer. Actually, Keats gets two presents, the new quest is [...]
Sony has six quest packs prepared for Folklore, two of the quest packs arrive in North America tomorrow. Each $3.99 package adds four quests, a new Folk and a costume for either Ellen or Keats. Here is a look at what you get: Add-On Pack 1: “The Kidnapped Folk” Set during the timeframe of [...]
Months ago, Sony held a contest asking gamers in North America and Europe to create a custom creature for Folklore. Game Republic chose the fire-fearing, poison spore cloud dropping, Malion as the first place winner from Europe. In the future, the Malion will be released in a downloadable content pack just like Quasarilli, the original [...]
Folklore hasn’t come out yet in North America, but Japan is already on their second downloadable quest pack. Like the first one the additional quest pack adds in four new missions and one new Folks to play with. Not a bad amount of content for 300 yen ($2.50) and Sony has been rapidly releasing these. [...]
Sony sent over an e-mail to Siliconera HQ to let us know we are getting a demo of Folklore just like Europe. Something unusual is the demo is a “sneak preview” and the note says “discover the amazing worlds and creatures of Folklore in this exclusive U.S. demo.” Hmm… I remember Japan had a demo [...]
Not a lot of people have been able to experience Folklore yet (aka FolksSoul in Japan), but Sony Computer Entertainment America is giving (pre-release) fans a chance to bring their art into Folklore. Through their Create-A-Creature Contest you can design a Folks that will be featured in the game, in one of the upcoming quest [...]
Sony is releasing expandable quest packs for FolksSoul (aka Folklore in North America) and the first one just graced the Playstation Store. The catch is the download isn’t free; it costs 300 yen ($2.50). To be fair the price isn’t too much. For less than the price of a beer you get four quests, a [...]
Sony Computer Entertainment America revealed that they are going to be releasing six downloadable quest packs for Folklore. The news is a little out of the blue because Folklore has been out for months in Japan under the name FolksSoul and we haven’t heard anything about them. Each pack contains four quests, a new costume [...]
After dropping the price of the 60 GB Playstation 3, Sony announced sales are up more than 135%. The sales increase is obvious news, but contained in the e-mail was a blurb with approximate release dates for some of their first party games. You probably already know Warhawk is due out in August and Heavenly [...]
It almost seemed as if JRPGs on the Playstation 3 wouldn't make an appearance in the console's early lifespan. Those who've longed for such a game had Enchanted Arms, originally an Xbox 360 title, to tide their woes. But even Enchanted Arms, though a good game yet somewhat unfavored by many, wasn't enough to tide [...]
Perhaps what is widely considered by many Playstation 3 owners to be the very first definitive title to purchase for their beloved system and a game that warrants their purchasing of said system, FolksSoul (better known as Folklore here in the U.S.) was available yesterday for download via Playstation Store in Japan. With such a [...]
There’s too much talk about Folklore, I know, but I can’t help it if the game is really that appealing! After all, who could deny the beauty of the game’s Gothic atmosphere and what not? If Game Republic’s dedication to making Folklore’s gameplay a bit more simplistic than its previous Playstation 3 title is [...]
