Lionhead and Microsoft are testing a new way to re-release RPGs with Fable II. The full game is going to be chopped up into five Fable II: Game Episodes which will be released as digital downloads on September 29.

While it was unlikely, I hoped Games on Demand would open the floodgates for import friendly Xbox 360 games from Japan. There isn’t much online that isn’t available in North America other than The Idolm@ster so I tried to download it.

Microsoft has a totally different Xbox 360 Games on Demand launch line up. In an attempt to cater to local tastes there are two Idolm@ster games on the list and Cavia’s brain shooting action game, Bullet Witch.

Microsoft sent out a launch list of retail Xbox 360 games which will also be available as downloads when the spring up date comes around. What’s interesting is you won’t need to buy Games on Demand title with Microsoft Points.
