PlayStation 3 owners craving a shoot ‘em up should fire up their Japan region PlayStation Network account next week. Cyberfront, publisher of Mamoru-Kun on PlayStation 3, will release a demo on PSN.

Cyberfront went beyond a standard arcade port and added widescreen mode as an option in the PlayStation 3 version of Mamoru-Kun.

Cyberfront is retooling arcade shooter Mamoru-kun for PlayStation 3. I said “retooling” since Cyberfront is adding features to the PS3 version like widescreen support.

Cyberfront is giving Mamoru-kun a new look on PlayStation 3. While the Xbox 360 version was a port of the arcade game, Mamoru-kun for PS3 is in widescreen HD.

While Japan will be busy with something something XIII, Square Enix has another console game to keep their fans in the West occupied. 0 Day Attack on Earth will be available on Xbox Live Arcade on December 23.
