Insomniac’s next Ratchet & Clank game is just what it sounds like.
An EA Partners agreement allows Insomniac to retain ownership of their new intellectual property being published by Electronic Arts.
Sony altered Ratchet’s design in Japan by giving him ridiculously huge eyebrows. Originally, this quirk was restricted to cover art, but starting with Ratchet & Clank Future the in-game graphics were altered too.
Ratchet and Clank: A Crack In Time brings Ratchet’s robotic sidekick, Clank, back as a playable character. In this game Clank was carrying carrying a golden staff that allows him to activate time pods.
Sony officially announced Ratchet & Clank Quest for Booty, a follow up to the PS3 game where you search for Clank. It's a shorter game likened to "a summer blockbuster" with a little more puzzle solving. Ratchet can pick up items with his wrench for the first time. It's set to come out this summer.
Why, it's the only Lombax left in the universe and the star of the Ratchet and Clank games. But he's currently incognito in order to spy on the enemy. So while in disguise he's no longer mechanic and smart-alec Ratchet, no. He's international mystery-man (and one can only assume man-about-town) Mustachio Furioso!!! Sorry, just [...]
Downloadable PS1 games are so rare outside of Japan that the (re-)release of Spyro the Dragon deserves a post of its own. You can snag Insomniac’s second Playstation game from the US Playstation Store for $5.99. Remember that Piyotama Halloween skin we mentioned before? No? We’ll its up there now along with Rachel Master [...]
Unlike Japan, PS1 classics sporadically appear on the Playstation Store and Spyro: The Dragon may be next. The ESRB rated Spyro for the PS3/PSP with a predictable E rating. Hopefully, this will be the first in a new batch of cheap Playstation Classics. Intelligent Qube, Einhander and Tomba could have a second chance at commercial [...]
Over at the Playstation.blog there is a new video showing the stages of animation for Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. The short clip goes from the rudimentary 3D models up to the final animation, American style. Ratchet doesn’t have the super bushy eyebrows in this video. Also Insomniac Games mentioned that the [...]
I knew something was off in the Japanese trailer for Ratchet & Clank Future and it’s the way Ratchet looks. In Japan, Sony coined Ratchet like a Disney character with big bushy eyebrows and a cheek to cheek grin. Most of the time Ratchet’s kid-friendly demeanor is restricted to the cover art, but not in [...]
The E3 demo for Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction was based on the trailer Sony showed at their Gamers Day back in May. Like the other games in the series you play as Ratchet and Clank, his tiny robotic sidekick, is strapped to his back. Metropolis is under siege and the goal in [...]
Sony Computer Entertainment America, Gamestop, the Global Gaming League and Insomniac Games are teaming up to run a summer online tournament for Resistance: Fall of Man. Sign up begins today and if you’re interested head over to the official site and put your name on the list. Only 512 single players and 512 three-player teams [...]
Ratchet & Clank: Future Tools of Destruction wasn’t available to play. Instead there was a demonstration of Ratchet’s PS3 debut where Ratchet uses the Grooveatron, a new tool that forces the enemies to boogie in place to disco music. Other weapons shown are a floating copter that you pilot with the Sixaxis controller and the [...]
On Sunday April 22 Insomniac Games is going to be featured on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition with a new character in Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, James Westbrook. After learning of the family’s two separate hardships, one being an accident that left Westbrook paralyzed, and his favorite activity was playing and designing [...]
