Marvelous AQL have announced the production house behind the KAIO: King of Pirates anime—Studio Pierrot.

It looks like KAIO: King of Pirates is going to be another multimedia franchise for Marvelous AQL.

Kaio: King of Pirates takes place in the high seas where anthropomorphic characters fight each other for the Lucifer Coin.

“I’m trying to make a company where the developers feel more of a reward for making great products,” says Keiji Inafune.

Marvelous AQL have high hopes for Kaio: King of Pirates, a Nintendo 3DS game developed by former Capcom executive Keiji Inafune.

Kaio: King of Pirates takes the Romance of the Three Kingdoms story and blends it with pirate animals.

Kaio: King of Pirates is intended to be more than just a trilogy of games, says Inafune.

“You don’t get much reward for your effort. You get massive amounts of responsibility,” Inafune says about Japanese game companies.

“I will not disappoint you,” says a message from Inafune on the game’s official website.

Right now, Kaio: King of Pirates is a Japan only title, but it seems like Marvelous AQL is eyeing an international release.

Through his new company Comcept, Keiji Inafune has been working on a Nintendo 3DS game titled King of Pirates and Marvelous AQL is publishing it.
