The “watch” in Youkai Watch’s title is meant to be taken literally.

Level 5 announced a new game at their Level 5 Vision conference today.

Level 5 have cancelled plans for their Vision 2011 event and instead, plan to hold an event named Level 5 World in October.

“Level-5 IA will not only release games developed in Japan, but we are also planning to create original content for the U.S.,” says Level 5 president, Akihiro Hino.

Yasumi Matsuno says that his style of games won’t change even though he’s employed at Level 5 and working on smaller games.

Known for his work on Vagrant Story, Tactics Ogre, and Final Fantasy XII, Yasumi Matsuno began talking with Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino about making a game for them.
