Last week in Japan was Golden Week, an annual week-long holiday during which sales usually see an increase across the board. This year, however, was a little underwhelming.
Last week, Nintendo released Tomodachi Collection: New Life in Japan, which was the best-selling game for the week.
Nintendo have announced worldwide sales figures for Kid Icarus: Uprising, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon and other Nintendo 3DS titles.

Nintendo of America have shared U.S. sales for Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, and Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Last week was another slow week for new releases in Japan, with sales dropping across the board.
Fire Emblem has sold 240,000 copies in North America to date. One-third of its sales are from downloads.
Last week was slow on new releases, so the only new game in the top-20 was Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge.
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon managed to hold on to the #1 spot last week. At #2 was Marvelous AQL’s Fate/Extra CCC, which finally saw release following multiple delays.
Additionally, Media-Create also confirmed our suspicions that the holiday effect was responsible for revitalized sales across the board last week.
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 and Disgaea Dimension 2 were released in Japan last week.
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon revolves around three tools or mechanics, all of which are tied to Professor Gadd’s “Poltergust” ghost vacuum.
