While New Super Mario Bros. Wii is out in North America, Japan has to wait a few more weeks to play as Penguin Mario. Nintendo is hyping it overseas with a set of commercials focusing on different features.
One bundle is geared towards Brain Age fans. The Metallic Blue DSi Mario bundle is better suited for core gamers.
The biggest feature in New Super Mario Bros. Wii is co-op play something Shigeru Miyamoto wanted to bring back to the Mario series for years.
Nintendo seem to be pushing NSMB particularly hard in general though. Even the regular box art stands out from other Wii games.
Nintendo of Europe updated their New Super Mario Bros. page and spilled details on “demo play.” Contrary to what was said in a Miyamoto interview, demo play won’t beat a level for you.
New Super Mario Brothers Wii has at least two new power ups: the propeller suit, which replaces other flying power ups like the leaf, and Penguin Mario. Other screenshots show Yoshi riding and Fire Toad.
Nikkei Net reports that Nintendo plans to release a new Mario game in the second half of the year. No specifics were mentioned. Should we get excited?
