Udon are releasing a completely original art book for Capcom’s Marvel games, with no existing Japanese counterpart.
Capcom created two new control schemes for the game: a six-button layout or a compact four-button “flick” control scheme. The new setup has punch, kick, assist, and special attack buttons.
All 56 characters are in the portable release and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for iOS uses a flick button to squeeze the game’s special moves.
Capcom are bringing Marvel vs. Capcom 2 to the iPhone and iPod Touch with all 56 fighters.
Later today, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will drop down to $7.49 and kick off a five week sale on their PlayStation Network lineup.
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 arrives on the PlayStation Store on Thursday. What took so long? Retail distribution.
“Suffice to say, the only thing easy about porting is that you know what should be coming out the other side when you’re done,” said Christian Svensson, Vice President of Business Development at Capcom.
Capcom announced Marvel vs. Capcom 2 won’t come out on PlayStation Network until August 13, two weeks after the Xbox Live Arcade release.
While this is just a port of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 the digital re-release includes smoothing filters, removes character unlocking, and has online play.
In a more low key announcement Microsoft listed five games in their Summer of Arcade line up. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-shelled are due out this summer, after July 22.
Looks like we’re getting Marvel vs. Capcom 2 soon. “June 29″ soon, according to a Marvel Entertainment investor’s report. Joystiq quickly picked up that June 29th is a Monday. That’s when Nintendo stuff comes out domestically.
If you have a PlayStation 3 and a US account you can download a demo of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the PlayStation Store now. The file clocks in at 198MB and gives you access to six characters for offline multiplayer play only.
It’s official. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is crossing over to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as a $15 downloadable game. New features include online multiplayer with code from Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, HD upscaling, and widescreen support.
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is *most likely* coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A re-release is an exciting secret, but not a well kept one. Just look how far the leak spread.
