Mega Man X will be available on May 22 in Japan along with Glory of Heracles III: Silence of the Gods and Ikki from Sunsoft.

Well, what do you know. A gritty Mega Man FPS is something people tend to joke about a whole lot, but guess what—it was actually being developed at one point.

In Japan, the figure will be released in May for 3,500 yen. After that, it’s headed to North America.

The Blue Bomber turns 25 this year and Capcom appears to have plans to celebrate his birthday. Mega Man 25th Anniversary logos are hidden inside the recent “remake” of Mega Man X for iPhone.

For $4.99 you can play Mega Man X on your iPhone or other iOS device, but it’s not exactly the game you have fond memories of.

Mega Man X for iOS has touch screen controls with a digital control pad and shot buttons. New features include Game Center supported leaderboards for 80 different challenges.

“Strider IP has value,” says Capcom USA’s VP, Christian Svensson.

Japan has a tiny Virtual Console release schedule for April, but it has two Super Nintendo favorites on it. Chrono Trigger, Squaresoft’s time-twisting RPG, is one of them.
