Konami released a Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance demo on PlayStation Network. You can download it from Japan’s PlayStation Store, but you cannot play it unless you have a Japanese PS3.

“The core concept behind the character in Rising is that Raiden is always moving forward. We don’t want him hiding, dodging attacks, or rolling away,” said Atsushi Inaba, Producer at PlatinumGames.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance opens a little before the demo bundled with Zone of the Enders HD Collection and Raiden still has both eyes when he lands in an unspecified country in Africa.

Missed Tokyo Game Show? Well, you can get a taste of Metal Gear Rising: Revengance on December 13. Konami will release the TGS demo, which was also packaged with Zone of the Enders HD Collection as a bonus.

Japan is getting special editions of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, too, but they’re different from the North American collector’s edition.

The collector’s edition version of Metal Gear Rising won’t include an art book, but will instead come with a plasma lamp with Raiden’s sword.
