Hong Kong magazine Gamewave may have a huge scoop. This week’s cover says Monster Hunter Tri Portable, a PSP version of Monster Hunter Tri, will be in stores by the end of this year.

Capcom added Wii Speak support to the Western version of Monster Hunter Tri. Nintendo of Europe announced the news this morning and a Wii Speak bundle.

“In 2010, you won’t see as many Wii games from Capcom, but the ones we release will be much larger, event-size games,” said Chris Kramer, senior director of communications and community at Capcom.

Capcom wisely moved key releases out of the Q1 2010 and into the following fiscal year. A strategic decision, which would be in vain if their next term was overcrowded with spillover games.

Capcom’s not-so-secret business goal is to be a mega publisher in the West. Great, but how is Capcom going to pull that off?

Capcom moved Lost Planet 2, Super Street Fighter IV, and the domestic release of Monster Hunter Tri.

Which game topped number one the store’s personal selection? I’ll give you a hint, it was something from Square Enix.

Japan’s video game bible and Capcom partnered to add a special weapon to Monster Hunter Tri. Online players, hunter rank 18 or higher, can grab the Brain Fox.

The Classic Controller Pro and it’s hand grips looks nice, but that’s not the only Classic Controller out there.

Since Monster Hunter Tri came out in Japan over the weekend Capcom is starting to discuss the Western release. We get to hunt underwater monsters in “early 2010.”

It’s July 27, which means we’re less than a week away from the launch of Monster Hunter 3 in Japan.

With only days until it comes out Capcom confirmed Monster Hunter 3’s online mode will be pay to play. To access the online mode you need a hunting ticket, which are sold in tiers just like Monster Hunter G.

A black Wii will be releasing in Japan on August 1. Along with it, you’ll also be able to buy a black Wii remote, classic controller pro and Nunchuk.

Nintendo also confirms Monster Hunter Tri will see a release in the West, but it won’t come out until next year. The game is roughly slated for March 2010.
