The SNK licensed device has ended its production run in Japan today. No more consoles will be manufactured or shipped in Japan.
The NeoGeo X Gold, a portable NeoGeo loaded with 20 ROMs, is arriving this week on December 6th.
Wii U isn’t the only “new” console coming out this holiday season. SNK and Tommo will release the NeoGeo X Gold on December 6. The heart of the device is a portable NeoGeo loaded with 20 ROMs.
The NeoGeo X Gold looks like slick piece of hardware. It’s a console, handheld. and has a replica NeoGeo arcade stick. While it is pre-loaded with 20 games, for $200 users should be able to add games to the system somehow.
If you’re considering to pay $199.99 for a new piece of SNK hardware you probably want a better look at what you’re going to buy.
The hardware is neat since the NeoGeo X Gold doubles as a console and a handheld. Plug it into the docking station and you can use a NeoGeo X joystick, which looks just like the classic NeoGeo stick.
Samurai Shodown, Metal Slug, and King of Fighters ’94 are coming to your pocket in a NeoGeo branded portable. Dubbed “NeoGeo X” this handheld has a 3.5″ LCD screen, SD card expansion slot, A/V output and 20 licensed NeoGeo games on the device.
The Neo Geo Portable is a new SNK branded handheld pre-loaded with twenty games like Metal Slug, Fatal Fury, and The King of Fighters ’94.
