Keiji Inafune of ex-Capcom fame says that he plans to release a social game for the Japanese market as early as this month.

The lily system lets players tie two characters – one in front and one in the rear. Only the character in the front row does attacking; the character in the back row has a support role.

You’re probably familiar with Neptune/Purple Heart already from Neptunia. Next to her is the lead character in Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2, Nepgear.

Players will visit Lastation, Leanbox, Lowee, and Planeptune in Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2, but all of the regions or landmasses as they’re called have changed between the two games. Let’s take a look at some before and after pictures.

Japanese retailer Messe Sanoh got the jump on Compile Heart and revealed more guest characters before the publisher could. In this batch of tiny screenshots we can see Totori from Atelier Totori and Kurisu from Steins;Gate.

In terms of environments, Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2 is a step up from Hyperdimension Neptunia. This video shows Nepgear walking through three areas: Gapian Plains, Block Dungeon, and Repeat Resort.

Along with Nepgear, the new protagonist, these video game vigilantes will stand up against Arfoire’s crime syndicate in Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2.

Compile Heart’s Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2 limited edition bundle has not one, but two figures. You get Purple Heart and Purple Sister, the transformed versions of Neptune and Nepgear.

Keiji Inafune has been immortalized, not by Capcom, but by Compile Heart. The developer added the Mega Man creator to Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2 as a summon of sorts.
