Cavia and Square Enix’s “second action-RPG pillar” is off to a fine start.
We’ve seen lots of videos from Nier Gestalt or simply Nier in North America. This trailer is all about Nier Replicant, which features a young hero on a quest to save his sister.
We already reported what’s different in Nier Gestalt and Nier Replicant. Let’s do the opposite now and examine how much content on the Nier portal is the same.
Take a look at Nier Replicant before Tokyo Game Show starts. The PlayStation 3 version of Nier focuses on a man fighting to save his sister and has a different style than Nier Gestalt, which is for Xbox 360.
The PlayStation 3 game has androgynous characters (typical Square Enix design) while Nier Gestalt’s hero looks more like Conan the Barbarian.
If you want to play either of those games or Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 swing by Microsoft’s booth at Tokyo Game Show.
Square Enix officially announced Nier Gestalt for Japan and like Famitsu said it’s “only” coming out for the Xbox 360.
Famitsu indicates something curious is going on with NieR. The latest issue lists NieR Gestalt only as an Xbox 360 game with a 2010 release window. If you recall, the game was supposed to be multiplatform for both high-def consoles.
