By Spencer . July 1, 2009 . 1:31pm

Maybe I should have said “docked” because Namco Bandai shipped One Piece Unlimited Cruise: The Treasure Beneath the Waves in PAL territories weeks ago.

One Piece: Unlimited Cruise Docks In Europe This Summer

By Spencer . February 20, 2009 . 6:53am

Namco Bandai’s two episode One Piece: Unlimited Cruise saga is being localized. Europe gets the first game in June and the second game is scheduled to come out in October. No official news about a domestic release, but since Namco Bandai is already doing the work I would be shocked if these didn’t come here. […]

One Piece: Unlimited Cruise Episode 2 Sailing To Stores In February

By Spencer . December 23, 2008 . 2:36pm

When One Piece: Unlimited Cruise was announced it looked like the episodes were going to be back to back. But, Ganbarion needs time to make the second game so One Piece: Unlimited Cruise Episode 2 won’t be in stores until February 26. While you’re waiting finish up One Piece: Unlimited Cruise Episode 1. Your data […]

Meet Gaburi, a new character made for One Piece: Unlimited Cruise

By Spencer . August 21, 2008 . 11:23am

A brand new character is joining Luffy and the Straw Hat crew for at least one of the two One Piece: Unlimited Cruise games. In episode one Gaburi, who looks Chopper’s Viva Pinata counterpart, is introduced as a newcomer in this trailer. He spits fireballs and appears to be integral to the plot. In one […]

By Spencer . July 18, 2008 . 7:27pm

The first of two One Piece games for the Wii is scheduled to come out on September 11 in Japan. Brook, the skeletal musician in the Straw Hat Pirates, is a new playable character. He attacks with pirouettes and a purple cane. The bug catching net, pickaxe, and fishing rod from One Piece: Unlimited Adventure […]

One Piece: Unlimited Adventure – Not quite unlimited, but one heck of an adventure

By Levi . February 13, 2008 . 1:35pm

Ahh, another anime game. Seems to be my forte, no? Reviewing anime games can be a harsh job. Anime games oftentimes fall victim to what I call the "anime game curse". That is, when a game ends up being nothing more than an excuse to use an anime's license to sell copies to uninformed fans […]

One Piece: Unlimited Adventure sets sail later this month

By Spencer . January 4, 2008 . 7:08am

Namco Bandai is releasing the first in the series of One Piece games for the Wii on January 22 in North America. Japan got this back in April and I’m not complaining about the localization time (really!). Before the announcement the fate of an international release was, at times, murky. Also seeing One Piece: Unlimited […]

Luffy’s next adventure is split into two parts

By Spencer . December 19, 2007 . 12:35pm

EvilGamerX’s comment (thanks for the tip!) about Namco Bandai’s next One Piece game prompted me to poke around for more information. The project’s temporary name is One Piece Unlimited Adventure 2, its final name is One Piece: Unlimited Cruise. Also Namco Bandai is going the .hack route with the pirate crew. There are two parts […]

One Piece fans get ready to rejoice. At long last, the shiny, cel-shaded Luffy is coming to North America. Namco Bandai confirmed a US release for the Wii’s first One Piece game, One Piece: Unlimted Adventure (thanks for the tip EvilGamerX!). No specific release date has been given, but it is targeted for “early 2008”.

Missing at E3: Gundam and One Piece

By Spencer . July 16, 2007 . 1:16am

With the exception of Dynasty Warriors Gundam and a few Naruto games Namco Bandai’s line up was light on anime. No Zatch Bell games, Gundam for the Wii or any One Piece titles. I asked about the lack of One Piece games and I was told they have no announcements to make at this time. […]

Watch: Super moves in One Piece Gear Spirit

By Spencer . July 10, 2007 . 12:00pm

Four player potable fighting with the cast of One Piece sums up One Piece: Gear Spirit. Instead of using 2D graphics, Namco Bandai opted for 3D models and the graphics look pretty good on the DS. Take a look at some of the super attacks and if you're a One Piece fan leave a comment […]

One Piece + 3D + Nintendo DS

By Spencer . June 5, 2007 . 1:55am

Namco Bandai games opened up a site for One Piece: Gear Spirit. It is an upcoming Nintendo DS fighting game all in 3D with some kind of mysterious card system on the touch screen. Up to four players can fight in arena at the same time, which is similar to the series of Powerstone-like Gamecube […]

Rumor Control: Soul Calibur coming to the Wii? Maybe, but not now

By Spencer . May 7, 2007 . 4:14pm

It’s hard to ignore all of the tips (thanks everyone!) about IGN’s podcast where they mention a fighting game coming to the Wii that is “gonna be some kind of crazy ass adventure game”. Wide speculation is that it is “Soul Calibur Adventures”. While that is tantalizing there is a more realistic possibility. Ganbarion has […]
