D3 Publisher’s portable Onechanbara game has over 300 weapons and costumes, perhaps, wackier than the bikini and cowboy hat get up Aya wears.
You can play Onechanbara Special in multiplayer either locally with a friend or with a computer-controlled sidekick.
Onechanbara Special is a PSP version of the Onechanbara with five playable characters, over 300 weapons to find, and plenty of zombies to coat your sword with tainted blood.
D3 Publisher is an interesting company. In Japan they have a healthy supply of budget and often offbeat games, but in North America the general public is more likely to associate them with Naruto or Ben 10 instead of Earth Defense Force 2017. Next year D3 will embrace their roots and bring the Onechanbara, perhaps [...]
At last the Onechanbara is coming to North America. To find out about D3′s plans for their zombie slasher series I spoke with Oohashi Toshiro from D3 Japan’s Consumer Business Division. One of the questions I asked him was if there was anything different between the Japanese and North American versions of Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie [...]
So, D3 Publisher is bringing out Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad on the Xbox 360 next year. This game adds Anna who doesn’t slice zombies, she shoots them with an arsenal of guns. In Japan, Anna has her own mobile phone game, Z.P.F. Anna Onechanbara Special which borrows the over the shoulder camera from Resident Evil [...]
We have an update to last week’s Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad trademark research. Siliconera reader Jeff D. sent over a tip with a link (thanks!!) to an official page for what appears to be the US version Onechanbara VorteX. It’s going to be called Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad in North America. The product page only [...]
The Onechanbara is one of D3’s biggest original properties in Japan. They even made a live action movie based on the video game series. Onechanbara and all of its campiness will make its debut on the Wii with Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers in early 2009, but D3 Publisher may have bigger plans for Aya. In [...]
I saw Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers at E3, but it was just the Japanese version better known as Onechanbara R. We couldn’t play it either, but I know what to expect: slashing zombies with motion control. I don’t think many people are aware of that Onechanbara R is only a slice of the Onechanbara universe. [...]
In the eighties I couldn’t imagine Nintendo approving a game like the Onechanbara, but the blend of blood and bikinis is coming to North American Wiis in 2009. Times have changed, for the better. Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers even keeps a B-rated movie name to match the simple slice and dice action the series is [...]
The Onechanbara R site got updated with a rather cool feature, 3D screenshots. Head over to the official site and click on the option that says 3D Screenshot (fourth option from the bottom). Once you pick a screen you can rotate it by holding the left mouse button down and moving the mouse. After playing [...]
I can't say I'm surprised by this at all because Onechanbara feels right at home on the Wii. The game is about slicing zombies with a sword and the Wii can emulate the motions. Also the Onechanbara has typically been a budget series. Developing the game on the Wii would be more reasonable than bringing [...]
