Meanwhile, today’s Project X Zone demo features characters from Sakura Wars, Cyberbots, Space Channel 5 and Valkyria Chronicles.
Project X Zone is getting a “Lethal Surprise Demo” in Europe this week on the Nintendo eShop.
Capcom have shared a new video highlighting the Capcom characters that will be in Project X Zone.
Over 30 different franchises are represented, and it was not easy brining everyone over. Even John McClain, of Die Hard Arcade fame, though he’s referred to as Bruno Delinger, from the non-Hollywood licensed version of the game, Dynamite Deka.
Namco Bandai is bundling extra goodies with Project X Zone. The game will be sold as a limited edition with a mini-art book, poster, and music CD packaged with the game. Project X Zone will still retail for $39.99.
How did Mega Man X and Kurt from the Japan-only game Valkyria Chronicles 3 get into the same game? An artifact called the Portalstone has been stolen and a rift opened that allowed this crazy crossover to happen.
Project X Zone has a release date in North America, according to the game’s page on Namco Bandai’s website.
Project X Zone uses a tactical RPG system. Players move active units like Soma and Alisa on the map using the slide pad. Holding B while moving a unit makes the character dash. The d-pad zooms in and out and rotates the map.
Project X Zone “will feature the same characters from the Japanese version,” a Namco Bandai representative shared with Siliconera. [Update: Japanese voice-track.]
To go along with the announcement, Namco Bandai released a few Japanese screenshots of Project X Zone.

Project X Zone ver. A has characters from Valkyria Chronicles 3, Sakura Wars, Space Channel 5, Street Fighter, .hack, and God Eater set in the Grand Imperial Theater from Sakura Wars.
Last week’s biggest release in Japan was The Little Battlers W, the newest game in Level 5′s mecha series, but it wasn’t actually very “big” at all.
