Winds of Nostalgia Lifts Off For North America

By Spencer . April 28, 2009 . 12:49pm

We always have our eyes on Ignition Entertainment. Why? Out of left field they release games that don’t seem like they have any chance of coming over. Today, they picked up Winds of Nostalgia, you know that airship RPG for the Nintendo DS.

Compile Heart Breeds Agarest Senki Sequel For PS3

By Spencer . March 25, 2009 . 1:50am

After an Xbox 360 port, the Agarest Senki series (wow, this is a series) returns to the PlayStation 3. Agarest Senki was an early PS3 strategy RPG now best remembered for its “virtual date and mate to character create” system. Agarest Senki Zero expands on the Soul Breed system with generations of offspring.   The […]

Skies of Arcadia fans look out for Nostalgio’s Wind

By Spencer . July 7, 2008 . 3:33pm

Tecmo, demonstrating they have projects outside of Team Ninja, unveiled Nostalgio no Kaze (Nostalgio’s Wind). It’s a joint RPG project with Red Entertainment (Sakura Wars) developed by Matrix Software, best known for the DS Final Fantasy remakes. Besides being in 3D Nostalgio no Kaze has airship on airship combat as seen in this screenshot. My […]

Unearthing dinosaur bones, becoming a fossil holder

By Spencer . April 10, 2008 . 4:12pm

I dug up T-rex and triceratops skulls in Bokura wa Kaseki Holder (We are Fossil Holders). The experience is very reminiscent of Spectrobes, down to the removing the dust by blowing on the screen. In the demo I could only whack the ground with a hammer, chisel with a drill, blow dust away and scan […]

Digging for dinosaurs in Bokura wa Kaseki Holder

By Spencer . February 27, 2008 . 10:17am

Red Entertainment, best known for the Sakura Taisen games, is also developing a game with fire breathing dinosaurs. Bokura wa Kaseki Holder (We are Fossil Holders) is a Nintendo DS game where stylus-equipped archaeologists excavate fossils by tapping away on the touch screen. This portion of the game vaguely reminds me of Spectrobes, without the […]

Waging war and linking allies in Agarest Senki

By Spencer . February 1, 2008 . 6:01pm

Agarest Senki (aka Record of Agarest War) gained notoriety because of its soul breed system where you date and mate with female party members to create the protagonist for the next chapter. It reminded me of the system Sega introduced in Phantasy Star III, only more CERO C (teen equivalent). I don’t want to rehash […]

Dungeon Crawler Delay #2: Dramatic Dungeon: Sakura Taisen

By Spencer . January 22, 2008 . 8:56am

What's up with all these dungeon crawler delays? Dramatic Dungeon: Sakura Taisen Kimi Arugatame is also getting knocked back about a month from February 21 to March 19. While Sakura Taisen (aka Sakura Wars) is relatively unknown outside of niche circles in North America, Dramatic Dungeon: Sakura Taisen is out of the ordinary.   Red […]

Import underdog: Go! Go! Minon

By Spencer . June 5, 2007 . 4:59pm

Success Corp has something that struck my eye and is relatively unknown, Go! Go! Minon. It’s a Wii game where you play as a super hero who runs on a path of dominos. Details are scarce about how Go! Go! Minon uses the Wii remote, but I’m fan of the Gitaroo-Man like style. Since Go! […]

Brave the rapids on your couch

By Spencer . October 11, 2006 . 10:35am

Red Entertainment who is known for creating action games like Gungrave and Bujingai is taking a leap of faith with River Ride Adventure. No ninjas to fight, no guns to shoot, it’s just you against the rapids in this title. While it might deviate from Red Entertainment’s usual line up, there aren’t too many […]

Travel far east of Eden.

By Kurt . July 17, 2005 . 2:26am

While Tengai Makyou 3 was planned for NEC’s PC-FX back in 1995, the dismal failure of the system caused the game to be cancelled. A decade later, Hudson and Red Entertainment has resurrected the series for the Playstation 2 and giving a third true installment. Read our playtest for more details on Tengai Makyou 3 […]
