PlayStation 2 horror title, Siren, is headed to the PlayStation Network for PS3 next week.
PS2 Classics arrive in Japan on July 25. Castlevania: Lament of Innocence, Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore, Dark Cloud, and Gunstar Heroes: Treasure Box will be relesaed later on.
“Horror games reach players through fear, which is part of human nature. Gravity Rush is about falling and that is also something people can instinctively understand,” said Keiichiro Toyama.
For whatever reason Sony Computer Entertainment passed on releasing Siren: Blood Curse in stores. Every other region got a retail release and this week the Asian version, Siren: New Translation, is only $24.99 at Play-Asia. The digital download costs $40 in the good old USA if you purchase all of the episodes. So you [...]
Released in 2004, Forbidden Siren for PlayStation 2 was set in the mountain village of Hanuda, Japan. The macabre story centers on a small group of visitors that voyage to the isolated region to discover a mysterious cult, their bizarre rituals, and a group of murderous corpse-people. Called 'Shibito,' they follow the call of [...]
A contest is being held in Singapore and Hong Kong to celebrate the launch of Siren: New Translation (aka Siren: Blood Curse) where artists can submit drawings of their ideal Shibito. Three winners get a Blu-ray copy of Siren: New Translation signed by the game’s producer and a wallet top-up for their PlayStation Network account. [...]
At the Sony E3 press booth, SCE producers Tsubasa Yuasa and Kumi Inaba guided players through an introduction to Siren: Blood Curse. Known as Siren: New Translation in Japan, the game is an entirely new take on the Playstation 2 horror titles Siren and Forbidden Siren 2. The haunted town of Hanuda is revisited, this [...]
Sony is only releasing the PlayStation 3 remake of Siren as an episodic PlayStation Network game in North America. A cautious move, but somewhat reasonable since Siren didn’t reach top the charts when it was a PlayStation 2 game. Sony Computer Entertainment America even passed on Siren 2 regardless of an existing English translation completed [...]
Sony Computer Entertainment America announced Siren: Blood Curse as an episodic PlayStation Network game in North America. The case is very different in Japan where Siren: New Translation won’t have piecemeal distribution. Sony Computer Entertainment Japan will sell Siren: New Translation as a regular retail game for 5,980 yen ($57). This isn’t the first [...]
We have a new translation for the title of Siren: New Translation. In Europe the PlayStation Network Siren remake will be known as Siren: Blood Curse. Just like in Japan the game will be split into twelve episodes where players control an American TV crew investigating the horrors of Hanuda village. Yes, there is sight-jacking. [...]
The news about Siren: New Translation sounded great until I remembered how frustrating Siren was on the PlayStation 2. Sightjacking was a neat gameplay mechanic and the Shibito were frightful looking creatures. However, they were too powerful with persistent reanimation. Siren was really about sneaking around, not ghoul hunting. I didn’t beat it. I’m not [...]
Just like the rumored PlayStation Network list claimed there is a new Siren game in development for the PS3, but it isn’t exactly new. Siren: New Translation is semi-remake of Siren, with an international cast. An American TV crew wishes to film the horrors in Hanuda when they are attacked by the Shibito. From [...]
