As of last week, Star Ocean: The Last Hope is a multi-platform game. However, it took a year for the PlayStation 3 version to come out. How come?
Star Ocean 3 got a director’s cut, so will Star Ocean: The Last Hope get one too? A fan brought that question to Yoshinori Yamagishi, the game’s producer.
Star Ocean: The Last Hope International has more than Japanese voices and anime portraits. Square Enix’s European newsletter slipped news that the PlayStation 3 port has “additional characters.”
Square Enix didn’t highlight the anime art as one of the features, but a battle screenshot with anime portraits was also included with the Japanese announcement.
Don’t worry about importing Star Ocean: The Last Hope International. Square Enix plans to release the PlayStation 3 version domestically.
Square Enix is raising the bar for their “international” editions, which usually have English voice acting and Japanese subtitles. Star Ocean: The Last Hope International also includes English subtitles.
Star Ocean: The Last Hope International, which is Star Ocean: The Last Hope with Japanese and English voice acting is slated for release in Japan on February 4, 2010.
