A Strider remake was being developed at Grin’s Barcelona office and was canceled by Capcom after the Bionic Commando reboot.
Meanwhile, the Sega Genesis version of Strider is available on the Wii Virtual Console.
Capcom USA confirm overseas release for both Virtual Console games.
Both games are slated for release on Wii in November for 600 Wii Points ($6).
“Strider IP has value,” says Capcom USA’s VP, Christian Svensson.
OK, so maybe the Necromachina trailer didn’t grab your attention, but this bit of probably news will. Kouichi Yotsui, one of the designers of Strider, is creating the side scrolling action game for Square Enix.
Capcom dusted off Strider and brought the plasma sword swinging ninja to an unlikely platform. A mobile phone version of Strider Hiryu aka the Strider arcade game is now available in Japan.
