A year after its Japanese and American release, Raiden Fighters Aces is headed to Europe.
Games like Raiden Fighters Aces are rare. Being a retail shooter collection in North America is enough to make this release uncommon. On top of that you don’t need to be a shmup expert to enjoy Raiden Fighters Aces.
Valcon Games brought Raiden Fighters Aces here this week. A pleasant surprise for shooter fans and solid package for around $20. Colin Gordon, Co-founder of Valcon Games, discusses the release and shares his thoughts on the shmup market.
The ESRB rating made it a safe bet, but nothing beats an official confirmation from publisher Valcon Games. Now we have one (thanks Chris!!). Raiden Fighter Aces is coming to North America thanks to Valcon Games. No official date was listed so we’ll have to go with the early April target set by retailers. Raiden [...]
Zoo Games isn’t publishing Raiden Fighters Aces here. Like we suspected earlier Valcon Games is taking care of it. Before snapping up the rights to Raiden Fighters Aces Valcon Games and Japanese publisher Success struck a deal for Shepherd’s Crossing. The funny thing is Valcon still hasn’t said anything official about Raiden Fighters Aces. [...]
Running a farm can be hard work, but playing a game about running a farm somehow makes the menial labor entertaining. Shepherd's Crossing is the latest contender in the same genre that games like Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing belong to. Shepherd's Crossing lets me play a new inhabitant of a sleepy, farming town. [...]
Shining Dragon isn’t the only unlikely localization project coming out from Valcon Games. They are also working on Youkoso Hitsuji Mura (Welcome to Sheep Village), a PlayStation 2 farming game that appears to be more serious than Harvest Moon. The emphasis in Hitsuji Mura is bartering your way up to livestock and herding sheep. There [...]
Add one to the number of improbable PlayStation 2 localization list. I can confirm the listing for Shining Dragon on Gamefly is indeed Ikki Tousen: Shining Dragon. The PlayStation 2 fighting game known for ripped clothes is based on a manga/anime, which it seems like some Siliconera readers are familiar with. I’m quite curious how [...]
Marvelous Interactive, a secondary source for anime games in Japan, hasn’t brought any of their anime games over to date. This might change. The connection is honestly loose, paper thin in fact, but it’s too interesting not to mention even if it’s mostly speculation. Gamefly has a listing for Shining Dragon as a PlayStation 2 [...]
In September ‘06 Marvelous released a flight simulator on the PSP called Pilot ni Narou Flying All-Stars. Rising Star, Marvelous’ European publishing arm, naturally localized the game for Europe in 2007. To date no North American release has even been considered since Marvelous isn’t open for business yet. However, budget publisher Valcon Games may [...]
Even around the savvy Siliconera crowd the name Valcon Games is relatively obscure and with good reason. The Redmond based publisher usually releases budget titles like Ultimate Board Game Collection and if it wasn’t for a Game Boy Advance port of James Pond I wouldn’t even know they existed. Last year, I was surprised to [...]
This is the second time this month something popped up with Valcom Games. After listing Dai Senryaku Exceed, Gamefly has Crazy Frog Arcade Racer as a Playstation 2 game in their database. It’s sort of unbelievable, but after having a hit ringtone the Lightwave generated frog landed a number one single on the UK music [...]
