Falcom and Softbank Creative put together 25 years of Ys artwork into one giant art book. Ys The Art Book has 280 pages of artwork covering fourteen different games all the way up to Ys Memories of Celceta for PlayStation Vita.

Xseed also picked up Falcom’s reimagining of Ys IV. Ys: Memories of Celceta begins with an amnesiac Adol Christin and without Dogi.

…but none of them were the #1 seller. That honour went to SD Gundam G Generation Overworld.

“It’s faster than Ys Seven so we believe action fans will be pleased. Thanks to the high specs of the Vita and the powerful processor we can put lots of enemies on screen at one time, much more than Ys Seven.”

At Tokyo Game Show, Falcom had a playable build of Ys Celceta: Sea of Trees. There were two options a field demo and a boss fight. Since I’m fond of Falcom’s big boss battles, I chose the latter option.

“At this point, it is too hard to tell if it will be Ys Eight or maybe we’ll take all of our new technology and remake Ys V,” says Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo.

We’ve seen screenshots of Ys Celceta: Sea of Trees shared in magazines and online, but, as the interviewee says, players may completely change their impressions when they see the game running on actual Vita hardware.

The Dwarf Bracelet shrinks Adol and the party. What’s neat is when you use it in battle the enemies appear larger. Wait.. that sounds like it’s going to be a huge problem for Adol too!

Adol’s eyes sparkled with curiosity when he was a child. How cute. In Ys Celceta: Sea of Trees, players will learn more about Adol as he searches for his memories.

Ys Celceta: Sea of Trees is joining Gravity Rush and Persona 4: Golden with a five Vita decals and matching digital wallpapers.

Adol travels with different characters in Ys Celceta: Sea of Trees and Cama is no slouch. She has throwing knives, which can cut ivy in the forest to climb on and lower suspension bridges.

Snowball throwing monsters! Giant bosses! Jumping fish! Adol getting slapped! We get it, Ys Celceta: Sea of Trees is action-packed and all of this takes place in Adol’s sealed memories.

Players will be able to control more than three characters in Ys Celceta: Sea of Trees.

Riesa is a 16 year old girl who lives in Highland who meets Adol when he passes by. She’s usually a tender person, but becomes resolute when she has something she wants to protect.
