At last year’s Tokyo Game Show, Falcom announced Ys Celceta: Sea of Trees, a reimagining of Ys IV and the first version of the game Falcom worked on directly.
“We’re hoping the Western audiences will really enjoy our new PlayStation Vita Ys game,” says Falcom president, Toshihiro Kondo.
“The way we make games now is different than before when we were primarily developing PC games. We would like to take the knowledge we gained and use our development skills to create a new IP.”
Dengeki PlayStation spoke with Falcom about Ys Celceta: Sea of Trees, their PlayStation Vita reimagining of Ys IV. According to the developer, they are aiming to outdo their work with Ys Seven.
“The subtitle is related to Adol’s adventures in Ys IV,” Toshihiro Kondo explained. In Sea of Trees, Adol begins the game without his memories and the story will explore how he came to become an adventurer.
Falcom released a trailer for their first Ys game on PlayStation Vita.

Falcom’s first PlayStation Vita game will be a remake of Ys IV.
