We knew Alien Crush Returns was making its worldwide debut this month along with Space Invaders Get Even. Hudson stealthily announced the release date is August 26 in Japan. While you need a Japanese Wii to get your hands on Alien Crush this month it should be coming out around the world relatively soon. The game has already been rated by the OFLC and after My Aquarium gets released Hudson will probably start talking about it officially. Hudson USA probably won’t pin the genre as “grotesque action pinball” though.
Alien Crush Returns costs 800 Wii Points ($8) and that’s for the base pack. Future downloadable content includes extra tables and balls with a different set of physics. I’m not crazy about buying extra tables, but the motion controlled table tilting feature sold me on the game.
