Namco Bandai and Game Republic have been working on a buddy monster game for PS3 and Xbox 360 previously called Majin: The Fallen Realm. Today, they announced a new name and a summer release.
Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom features a boy (described as a “cunning young outsider”) who meets Majin, a powerful monster-like creature, in a kingdom ruined by a dark force. The boy is an agile adventurer you directly control. Majin is the AI-controlled brawn. Namco Bandai notes Majin can assess conditions and act as its own entity or follow commands given by players. Majin grows throughout the game gaining more abilities that allow the duo to explore blocked areas. During combat, Majin and the unnamed boy fight together.
Yoshiki Okamoto who worked on Street Fighter II, Resident Evil, and Everyparty is the executive producer of Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom.
