Konami Open Their Own Retail Tokyo Store

Konami announced earlier this week that today, July 23rd, will mark the opening of a new retail store in Tokyo Midtown. Named “Konami Style” — the same as Konami’s online store — the outlet will serve as an “antenna shop,” where visitors will be able to access any information pertaining to Konami and Konami products that they require.

In addition, the new store will offer exclusive limited-edition products, and in certain cases, visitors will also be able to experience products before their retail release. Konami are hoping that opening the store in Tokyo Midtown will help them promote their products to a wider range of people, as it is a landmark frequented both by Japanese people as well as tourists.

Here’s a look at some of the products that will be made available at the store in honour of its opening:

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Exclusive Limited Edition (36,980 yen)

Peace Walker Playarts “KAI” Series Snake — Sneaking Suit, International version (unavailable in Japan normally)

Life size LovePlus POP and pin-up badges

And while you can’t buy it, here’s my favourite — a “scenic representation” of Kirameki City from Tokimeki Memorial. The environments visited in the game have been “recreated to a tee” in this diorama, which also features an actual running railway model.

If you’re interested, you can visit the store’s online website here. Keep in mind, most of the relevant content is in Japanese though.
