Tokyo Game Show 2010 Sees Record Attendees, Next Year’s Date Announced

The Tokyo Game Show for the year is all wrapped up, and all said and done, things didn’t go too badly. In fact, there were far more significant announcements over last year and the year prior to that as well.

The Computer Entertainment Software Association revealed today that TGS 2010 also saw a record number of attendees — over 200,000 for the first time ever. The numbers were as follows:

Day 1: 24,764 attendees

Day 2: 24,229 attendees

Day 3: 81,469 attendees

Day 4: 77,185 attendees

If you’re wondering why there’s such a big jump from day 2 to 3, it’s because the first two days of TGS are business days where only industry professionals such as publishers, retailers and the press are allowed to attend. Day 3 opens the show up to the public.

The CESA also revealed the dates for next year’s show: September 15th or 16th — they haven’t decided which — through September 18th.
