Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando And Fluidity Hit Nintendo Downloads

Last month, Capcom announced that 1942, Black Tiger, Commando and Exed Exes, Ghosts ‘n Goblins and SonSon would be making their way to the Wii’s Virtual Console sometime “this winter.” Two of those games are out today for 800 Wii points ($8.00).

Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando is a prequel of sorts to the arcade version of Bionic Commando. The game has you playing as Super Joe, who Nathan Spencer is later sent to rescue after he gets captured by enemy forces. SonSon, on the other hand, is a side-scroller very loosely based on the classic Chinese novel, Journey to the West. Ninja Theory’s Enslaved was also inspired by the same story.

Meanwhile, Fluidity is out now on WiiWare for 1,200 points, and a demo version is available for anyone that wants to try before they buy.

DSiWare has a couple interesting titles this week, too. The first is Dairojo! Samurai Defenders, which is a castle-defense game set in the Edo period, for 800 DSi points.

The other title is Space Ace, which is a DSiWare version of the original laserdisc video game. Space Ace, along with a game called Dragon’s Lair (also available on DSiWare), was a popular interactive cartoon game focusing on high-quality animation, with occasional input from the player, designed by Don Bluth Productions.

Here’s a more detailed explanation of what to expect from Dragon’s Lair and Space Ace, and why they were popular.
