Pokémon Black & White Sell 2 Million In Two Weeks In U.S.

Recommended Videos

Two weeks since release, Pokémon Black/White have crossed the 2 million mark in the U.S. alone, Nintendo of America revealed over their Twitter feed this past week.

On March 14th, 2010, Nintendo released Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver in the U.S., which sold about 1.7 million copies (combined) in their first two weeks on the market, which means that Black/White have clearly outsold them.

However, since Pokémon Diamond/Pearl were released rather late in April (on April 22nd, 2007), the NPD Group were only able to record a single week of sales, which amounted to 1.75 million units. This discrepancy makes comparing Diamond/Pearl sales directly to Black/White’s a little difficult.

Perhaps we’ll have a better means to compare the two once we see Black/White’s April sales, however, as we know that Pokémon Diamond/Pearl sold 2.32 million units (combined) in their first five weeks in the U.S.
