Ever17 makes use of 3D models for its characters during conversation scenes, which publisher, 5pb, believe will help give the game a more animated look. In the long run, they hope that upgrading to 3D models from 2D sprites will allow visual novels to catch up to anime in terms of animation.

If you liked the background music in the teaser video, you can listen to the full version on loop on 5pb’s Ever17 website. The Cyberfront-developed game is due out on July 28th in Japan.
