Do you like Idea Factory Otomate ports? Of course you do. Well, somebody does, because the company keeps making them! The latest is a PS3 remake of Hiiro no Kakera (Scarlet Fragment), which is going to be known as Hiiro no Kakera: Aizouban Akaneiro no Tsuioku (Scarlet Fragment: Popular Edition Reminiscence of Rubia). Yes, if you missed it on the PS2, PSP or DS, it’s now coming to another region-free platform at what will likely be a premium price.

Hiiro no Kakera is an otome visual novel about a girl named Tamaki, who has the power to seal the demon sword Onikirimaru and has a harem team of pretty-boy young men descended from legendary creatures to fight for her and protect her as she accomplishes this task. If Onikirimaru is left unchecked, then monsters and demons will cross over into our world to generally ruin everyone’s day. The problem is, Tamaki’s only just learned she has this power and isn’t the strongest and most intelligent heroine. Plus, she’s only just met her guardians and they don’t exactly trust her just yet. Not to mention there’s a clandestine group called Logos that’s trying to also gain control of Onikirimaru.

Since the PS3 port of Hiiro no Kakera has only just been announced, Idea Factory hasn’t mentioned what will be different this time around. The company has confirmed that, like the PSP and DS releases, the Hiiro no Kakera base game and Ano Sora no Shita de fan disk will be included on the disc. There will also be two new theme songs and a new opening movie added in to the PS3 release.
