Lost Planet 3 Has A New Protagonist: Jim, The Rig Pilot With A Family

Recommended Videos

Lost Planet 3 is slated for release sometime in early 2013, and will put you in the shoes of a new character. You’ll play as Jim, a rig pilot who leaves Earth to work at E.D.N. III, where he is employed at Neo-Venus Construction. This company is preparing the planet for colonization, and Jim and his colleagues start out by collecting samples of Thermal Energy, which is the planet’s energy supply.

Since the company’s Thermal Energy supply is running low, Jim thinks he can cash in by discovering the planet’s natural energy supply source, and return to his family on Earth. It sounds like you’ll get to take on different kinds of contract work while playing as Jake, and a “utility rig” will serve as your home base.

That’s about all Capcom are willing to reveal about Lost Planet 3 for the moment. They add that the game will include various multiplayer modes, but don’t go into specifics. In case you missed it, you can also watch the game’s reveal trailer.
