Square Enix have provided a first look at the character creation that you’ll have access to in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. This footage is from the alpha build of the game, so keep in mind that it could change in the future:

The races currently available in the alpha version are Hyur (Midlander – Male) and Miqo’te (Seeker of the Sun – Female). Class-wise, you’ll be able to select archer, lancer or conjurer. Square say they’ll be showing off more videos in the near future.
