Capcom confirmed what Siliconera announced last week – ports of the Dungeons & Dragons arcade games Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara and Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom are coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. At PAX East, Capcom announced the compilation as Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara which is in development for PC and Wii U too. Iron Galaxy, the studio that handled Darkstalkers Resurrection and Marvel vs. Capcom Origins, is handling the work.
Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara uses GGPO netcode and supports up to four players online. The game has drop-in/drop-out co-op and a new "House Rules" feature that allows players to alter the game mechanics. At the World of Capcom panel, Capcom explained one option turns arcade mode into time attack mode where you have to defeat enemies to build up the clock. "Hedgehog mode" has players lose life instead of money. Other options makes the game easier or harder.
A new character visualizer lets players see which characters they and their friends use most often so you can create a balanced party. Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara has challenges just like Iron Galaxy’s arcade ports which unlock items in the Vault. The Wii U version uses the GamePad’s touch screen to let players select loot and spells.
Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara will be released in June for $14.99.
