Puzzle & Dragons developer GungHo Online Entertainment acquired Lollipop Chainsaw developer Grasshopper Manufacture in February. While Kadokawa Games and Xseed are working on Killer is Dead there is another action game in development. The title hasn’t been announced and what we’ve seen so far is a few pieces of concept art.
She is the protagonist in Grasshopper Manufacture’s next title after Killer is Dead, which will be published by GungHo Online Entertainment. In the Japanese promotional artwork she says, "Whatcha looking at, commoner?" When I spoke with Goichi Suda from Grasshopper Manufacture and Kazuki Morishita from GungHo Online Entertainment I asked if she had an attitude. To my surprise, the sword brandishing woman is usually a timid character.
This piece of concept art has the red and black high contrast style seen in other Grasshopper Manufacture titles like killer7. I asked Suda what the significance of the red was. Suda pointed at the red door and said something crazy is going on in there. "It’s basically a different world on the other side," Suda added.
This area feels like Tokyo, but the GungHo Online Entertainment and Grasshopper Manufacture game is not set in Japan. The game is set somewhere in Asia, but both Morishita and Suda were coy about saying exactly where it’s set.
