Atelier Escha & Logy Begins A Series Of Countdown Videos

The release of Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky is less than a couple of weeks away, and Gust have started a series of character profile videos called the Atelier Escha & Logy Countdown Festival. In the first video featuring one of the game’s protagonists, Escha Malier, director Yoshito Okamura shares info along with a look at some in-game scenes.

The video starts out with a message from Okamura, saying that some of the info has already been revealed, but he’d like to take this opportunity to summarize it while showing new footage, prior to the game’s release.

Prior to being assigned to help the development team, Escha helped out as an assistant in the work of alchemy. In the above footage, it shows Logy and Escha greeting each other, as they’ve both been officially assigned to the team at the same time.

When starting the game with Escha’s story, it begins with a very familiar feeling that many of you might have experienced, such as the laid back day-to-day events in past Atelier games. There will be many other events that will occur after doing things such as while going out to prepare for alchemy or after Logy makes a weapon. Okamura hopes that players will get to enjoy Escha’s story just as they’ve played the past titles.

As an alchemist, Escha will be contributing on the battlefield using various items to help take out enemies and support allies. However, when it comes to raw combat talent, Escha is still only an alchemist and is just a regular girl compared to Logy.

However, that doesn’t mean Escha will be helpless and rely on Logy to do all the fighting. Okamura notes that as Escha gains experience, she will also gain quite the advantage in her ability to utilize items, and will arguably be better than Logy. Both protagonists will have access to items that can only be used by them, which will also play a big role in Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky.

Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky will be released in Japan on June 27th for PLayStation 3.
