Final Fantasy XI recently got its major August 2015 version update, that adds various adjustments and the second chapter to its Rhapsodies of Vana’diel storyline. Square Enix shares a look at the trailer for the update.
In addition to the new storyline for Rhapsodies of Vana’diel, the update adds a new area called Escha – Ru’Aun.Here are some details on it:
Escha – Ru’Aun will become available to players through the progression of Chapter 2 of Rhapsodies of Vana’diel, and contains foes and notorious monsters even more fearsome than those found in Escha – Zi’tah. Escha – Ru’aun serves not only as a stage for Rhapsodies of Vana’diel to play out, but also a place for players to participate in battle content such as Geas Fete and engage in more peaceful activities such as fishing and gathering.
The Domain Invasion is a new Eschan battle content, where you’ll join forces with adventurers in the area to take down some of the toughest monsters of Vana’diel, in raid battles with notorious monsters who only appear for limited stretches of time.
Sinister Reign is another new battle content that will let you cross blades with memorable characters from Seekers of Adoulin.
The following jobs have undergone adjustments in the August 2015 update: Red Mage, Dark Knight, Beastmaster, Summoner, Blue Mage, Puppetmaster, Scholar, Geomancer, and Rune Fencer. You can get the full details and more, by checking out the post on the official forum for the game.
