Really “Earning” Those Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash Costumes

Recommended Videos

Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash is a game packed with cuteness, and the best part might just be getting to dress up the tiny robot in various costumes. Unfortunately, doing so isn’t very easy. It requires replaying levels once, heading to Miiverse, scouring posts, then going back to already beaten levels yet again.

Costumes are earned from rescuing baby aliens. These only appear in a level after clearing it once. Getting one back to its parents usually earns you coins, but occasionally an immediate costume. If you’re lucky, you get numbers to post to Miiverse. Collect enough for an area, and you’ll get a five digit code that could force the baby alien to drop the costume the next time you get it rescued. There are about five costumes for each world, as a world always has one gimmick level.

It’s a good idea executed in the most round-about way. Searching for codes on Miiverse is rather inconvenient. If you aren’t immediately getting costumes on your own, then you have to rely on other people also replaying levels and sharing to get things done. The notion of encouraging information is a positive. However, this is a niche game, and getting extra attire can depend on others’ progress.

The plus side is, costumes have no effect on actual gameplay. They just make Chibi-Robo look even cooler than he already does. (Or more ridiculous, as seen in the chicken costume I constantly make him wear.) They’re a bonus for people who do want to make the extra effort.

For those that do, I’ve been working and checking Miiverse every day since Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash launched. I’ve managed to find the costume codes for levels one through three and am sharing them here so you can get your extra the first time you rescue those aliens.
