GungHo Online Entertainment and Nintendo announced Puzzle & Dragons X in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. [Thanks, Hachima.]

Puzzle & Dragons X will be similar to Puzzle & Dragons Z, the RPG puzzle game hybrid that released in Japan in 2013. The new game features a variety of content from Puzzle & Dragons Z, and will have more RPG elements, extra game content, and more.

There will also be over 500 monsters and they can be raised and evolved. The protagonists will also get to use abilities with equipment that have the power of monsters.

Puzzle & Dragons X will release in Japan in 2016 for Nintendo 3DS.
