Tales Of Symphonia’s Experiencing Some Problems On PCs

Tales of Symphonia made its Steam debut on February 1, but it wasn’t a flawless launch. People who have purchased the port are reporting a number of issues with the game. There are spelling errors not present in the PlayStation 3 Tales of Symphonia Chronicles release, text errors in the translations, inexplicable loading times when heading into menus, occasional crashes, and a new variety of DRM.

The DRM used in Tales of Symphonia is called VMProtect. Every time the game is launched, it creates a new .exe file for the game. These are stored in a TL folder in C:\.

Other issues with Tales of Symphonia’s PC release have to do with gameplay. People only get six save files for the JRPG. Also, those preoccupied with framerates should know it is locked at 30fps.

Bandai Namco is aware of the Tales of Symphonia Windows 7 save delay issue and is preparing a fix. No statement has been made yet about the other errors and issues.

Tales of Symphonia is immediately available for Windows PCs for $19.99. No patches have been released.
