Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final released earlier this month, and the game sold 96,349 copies on its debut week. Media Create provides us with more info on how the game sold.
Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final’s debut week sales of over 96k is a bit less than its predecessor Shin Megami Tensei IV, which impressively sold 188,562 copies in its first week back in 2013 with a sell-through of 80.14%.
However, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final didn’t do too bad on its own end with a sell-through of 73.28%. This is with the 56,000 pre-orders, about 42,000 less than Shin Megami Tensei IV’s pre-orders of 96,000 units.
Media Create says that this could be seen as an indication of a percentage of fans of the series that bought the previous title but decided not to carry on with the sequel.
