Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII’s Outerworld Services To Shut Down On April 26, 2016

Square Enix announced that Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII’s Outerworld Services will be coming to an end on April 26, 2016. [Thanks, @Sora96.]

The Outerworld Services is a communications feature in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII that allowed players to showcase their customized Lightning, along with location and character snapshots, Battle Scores, and send items for sale.

With the service coming to an end on April 26, the following features will no longer be available:

  • NEWS & UPDATES (upon launching the game)
  • Submissions to Outerworld Services
  • Outerworld NPCs
  • Posts to Social Network Services
  • Obtaining Outerworld rewards

*Rewards already obtained will not be affected.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy is available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
