Majora’s Mask And Breath Of Fire II Joining Nintendo’s Virtual Console On Thanksgiving

Two games will be joining North America’s Virtual Console lineup on Thanksgiving Day. Tomorrow, Nintendo Wii U owners will be able to get The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, while New Nintendo 3DS owners can pick up Breath of Fire II.

 

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask was released on the Nintendo 64 in 2000 and is the direct sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. While searching for Navi, Links himself caught in the Skull Kid’s trickery and in Termina. Skull Kid has stolen Majora’s Mask and is causing the moon to crash down on Termina in three days. It’s up to Link to keep repeating the day in a Groundhog’s Day fashion to set things right. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is $9.99 on the Nintendo Wii U eShop.

 

Breath of Fire II first appeared on the Super Nintendo in Japan in 1994, before coming to North America and Europe in 1995 and 1996. Set 500 years after Breath of Fire, once again following another dragon boy named Ryu and winged girl named Nina. In this iteration Ryu comes home from visiting a dragon that once saved his hometown from demos to find no one remembers him, his sister, or his father. Considered an orphan, Ryu is raised by the church with his childhood friend, Bow, before heading out as people for hire. Eventually they realize that demons are wondering and ruining people’s lives again, and Ryu, Nina, and a group of friends set to out set things right. Breath of Fire II is $7.99 on the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
